Food in the Mt Everest base camp trek;

Food of the region reflects its ‘Wintry Landscape’, revolving around ‘Barley’, ‘Dairy Products’, and ‘Meat.’ Those foods are unique and comforting. The recipes of cuisine are simple, hearty, and very warming. Especially foods are prepared by using noodles, goat, yak, mutton, dumplings, cheese (often from yak or goat milk), butter, and heartwarming soups. Generally yak, goat, or mutton meats are popular in the region which serve with spicy stew potatoes.

Khumbu glacier (Highest and largest glacier in the world) in Mt Everest base camp trek;

Khumbu glacier is situated in the Khumbu region between Mt. Everest and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. The glacier elevation ranges from 4,900m at its terminus to 7,600m at its source. This is the highest glacier in the world. The glacier is followed the final part of the trail to the one of Everest base camp and it starts from the western cwm near Everest. Khumbu ice-fall also belongs to this glacier at the west end of the lower western cwm. This is the main obstacle and considered dangerous for summit Mt. Everest. Khumbu Glacier is also the world’s largest glacier in the world.
