Overview

Gokyo lake Renjo La  pass trek is a panoramic trek in the Khumbu region. This trek leads you to villages from Lukla, Benkar, Monjo, Jorsale to the Gateway of Mt. Everest which is the sherpa capital called Namche Bazaar.

Namche bazer is place to explore Hydropower station, Khari gompa monastery, and close views of Mt. Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum Kangru and head to Lungdren. It makes you reach and cross the high pass of the region called Renjo La pass (5360m) to come up the beautiful valley called Gokyo and the heavenly glacier Gokyo lake .

A short hike will take you to the top of a small mountain summit called Gokyo Ri and from there you get the full unobstructed view of Everest panorama including Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu peaks which stand tall. Then you also visit Cho Oyu base camp and the biggest glacier of Ngozumpa.

At the time of returning of Gokyo lake Renjola pass trek you will follow the Dudh koshi river you head to Machhermo, Dole, Phortse. You can see the wildlife of Sagarmatha National park. Also the trek takes you to Tengboche monastery, chortens and army camp of Namche Bazaar. Then crossing the suspension bridge of Dudh Koshi the whole journey ends in Lukla.

Itinerary

  • Day: 01 Arrive in Kathmandu

    After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by guide or our office representative and transferred to the hotel. Then you will have brief orientation or presentation about your respective trek. After all you will go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with the neighborhood, have supper and go to bed. This is your first overnight in the valley of temples, varieties of ethics and their cultures, different test of delicious food and mystery of history ,within circle of green hill probably the most in the world.

  • Day: 02 Fly to Lukla,- 20 min. & Trek to Phakding

    Today, early morning take bus to Manthali then , you catch a 20 minutes mountain flight to land at Lukla airport. Then we meet with the rest of the trekking staff and begin with first trek up the Dudh kosi valley and arrive at Phakding village. Overnight in Phakding.

  • Day: 03 Phakding to Namche Bazer

    Today the walk with multiple crossings of Dudh koshi river brings to the entrance of Sagarmatha National park. Then descend to Jorsale and cross Hillary suspension bridge to Chautara and arrive Namche shortly. Overnight in Namche.

  • Day: 04 Acclimatization at Namche Bazer

    Today you explore the Namche Bazaar which has cafes’ hotels, lodges, shops, restaurants. You will also visit Khumjung and Khunde. Other than that you will get a know how on Sherpa people often regarded as “Tigers of Mountains” their lifestyle, culture and their records on Mountaineering. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day: 05 Namche to Thame

    Today with a special permit you reach Thame and see the hydro- electricity power supply station and Khari Gompa monastery on the way. Overnight in Thame.

  • Day: 07 Longden to Gokyo Valley, by crossing Renjola Pass ( 5360m )

    Today is the main part as you trek along a steep trail and glacier moraines to reach Renjo La pass from above you get mind blowing views of sagarmatha mountain peaks then shortly arrive at beautiful glacial water-body called Gokyo lake. Overnight in Gokyo.

  • Day: 08 Acclimatization in gokyo

    Today is a day to spend time around Gokyo lakes. You will hike to reach a summit of Gokyo Ri (5330m) and see jaw dropping views of Everest peaks. There are many lakes at Gokyo and one of them brings you to Cho Oyu base camp. Then a short hike takes you to the longest glacier of Ngozumpa. Overnight in Gokyo.

  • Day: 09 Gokyo to Phortse

    After following the same trail back for an hour. Before Phang, the route turns left to the Dudhkoshi where about two-three tea-houses are available after we cross the Dudhkoshi. It follows the river and sometimes brings you higher trails than going up to Gokyo via Dole/Machhermo. It is just the opposite trails which you could have seen when ascending Gokyo. we can get an opportunity to see more beautiful scenery in this route. This then leads us via Thare to Phortse village. Stay overnight in Phortse.

  • Day: 10 Phortse to Tengboche

    After breakfast in Namche, we head towards Tengboche enjoying the superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. Our trek follows on the gradual trail with few ups and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great Himalaya. Along the way, we can spot wild lives like pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar. The trail goes gradually down up to Kyangjuma. The path eventually reaches Sanasa which is the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp. The track then follows through the pine forests and after we cross the prayer flags festooned bridge over Dudh Kosi River, we reach Phunki Tenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses. After having a relaxed lunch at Phunki Tenga we then have a little tough climb steep up through the pine forests while before we reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a great place for close up views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest and it has the biggest Buddhist Monastery all over in the Khumbu region. Stay overnight in Tengboche.

  • Day: 11 Tengboche to Namche Bazer

    We continue to follow the river and, after crossing it, climb back up through birch and rhododendron forest to the famous monastery at Thyangboche. The views from here are splendid and Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku are just a few of the Himalayan giants to be seen. Then we descend to the bridge over the Dudh Kosi at Phunki Tenga, where there is water driven prayer wheels, before making our way back to the shining lights of hustling Namche Bazaar.   • Day: 12 Namche to Lukla

    This is our last day on these outstanding majestic mountains that has been home to us all of these days. We continue to backtrack with unforgettable Himalayan experiences.our hike towards Lukla along the Dudh Koshi River which is about 7 hours from Namche and do an overnight in Lukla.

  • Day: 13 Fly to Kathmandu ,- 30 min.

    Normally, flights from Lukla to Kathmandu are schedule early morning to avoid the strong winds. Scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu for about thirty minutes. We touch down at Kathmandu and transferred to hotel. But please note, sometimes the flight can be delayed or canceled in the mountain regions of this type due to weather and other unpredictable reasons beyond our control. Our guests are expected to be patient.

    After breakfast and our last day in Kathmandu, our vehicle and escorts will be on standby to drop you to the international airport three hours before our scheduled flight back home.
