Overview

Pikey trek is one of the best treks which gives the best ever Everest peak view from the vantage point of a small peak called Pikey in the Numbur Himal section of Nepal.

Pikey trek provides views of the World’s tallest mountain peaks of Mahalangur range including Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gauri Shankhar, Lhotse, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera, Thamserku, Lhotse shar, Nuptse and Ama Dablam peaks.

On the trail to Delightful Pikey trek you come across monasteries, gompa and stupa and pass through Jhapre village. You pass over grass ridge hillside spots of Taklung danda and forested paths to reach the Pikey base camp. The green forests unfold to Loding from Jhase Bhanjyang. You will get to see Chiwong monastery and also the apple orchards on the way to Ringmo.

Itinerary

  • Day: 01 Arrive in Kathmandu

    After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by guide or our office representative and transferred to the hotel. Then you will have brief orientation or presentation about your respective trek. After all you will go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with the neighborhood, have supper and go to bed. This is your first overnight in the valley of temples, varieties of ethics and their cultures, different test of delicious food and mystery of history ,within circle of green hill probably the most in the world.

  • Day: 02 Drive to Dhap Or Pattale

    Today we take you for a long drive after breakfast to Dhap. You will be driven on a private vehicle along the Highway and following the Sunkoshi river and then coming to Okhaldhunga the road climbs steadily up to Dhap. Overnight in Dhap.

  • Day: 03 Dhap to Dhapre

    Trek starts over the ridgeline to Shigane and to Japre village and passing by Gompa and Stupa you unwind to Dhapre to get the view of Everest and Numbur Himal. Overnight in Dhapre.

  • Day: 04 Sunrise at Pikey peak from Pikey base camp (2640m) and trek to Loding

    Today you start out by climbing up the prayer flags to reach the summit of a Pikey peak after relishing the sight of Mountain ranges from Annapurna to Kanchenjunga you follow the ridge line to the forested path of Jase Bhanjyang. Then you continue to walk towards Loding. Overnight in Loding.

  • Day: 05 Loading to Jundesi

    Today you walk over the ridgeline and after Jhase descend through the old growth forest of Takor. Then from there you head towards Sherpa village at Junbesi. You can also see the Buddhist stupa in Junbesi. Overnight in Junbesi.

  • Day: 06 Junbesi to Taksindu

    Today you cross the river and bottom of the town and up a forested path to Salung. Then from across the valley surrounded by Mountains you reach Chiwong Monastery and down to Phaplu. Then dropping down stream and climbing Ringmo you take a short climb to Taksindu La and drop down to Taksindu Monastery. It was built in 1946. Overnight in Taksindu.

  • Day: 07 Taksindu to Phaplu & visit Chiwong Gompa(2350m)

    Today you trek down the forested path to Phaplu. Along the way to the tea house you will take a hike to Chiwong Gompa and see Monastery founded in 1923. Overnight in Phaplu.

  • Day: 08 Fly to Kathmandu,- 25 min.

    Today we will drive you down to reach the Phaplu airport and bid farewell to guides and porters and the Mountains behind and land at Kathmandu airport and drive down to the hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
